Asunaro Aoki Construction and Komatsu to jointly exhibit at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan
The Future Life Expo: Future City is one of the Future Society Showcase Projects, promoted by the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition and is presented by the Association and 12 co-sponsors. What and who are cities for? What kind of “value” will Society 5.0 bring us? The exhibition will provide an opportunity for visitors to contemplate a variety of questions and to consider with us the vision of the future city through an exhibition in which the cyber and physical fields are mutually linked and fused.

Exhibit details
The exhibit will feature three short videos on immersive large screens, introducing the evolution of amphibious bulldozers into advanced underwater construction robots. Visitors will also experience a highly realistic and exciting presentation, including a detailed large-scale model of the concept machine and a 3D display that simulates the underwater environment. What is
underwater construction
of the future?
Do you know that rivers and oceans are in constant need of underwater construction? If the sediments that accumulate in rivers and beaches are not maintained, they are prone to flooding. Underwater construction has been silently protecting peoples' lives and livelihoods. In the near future, this critical task will evolve into underwater construction of the future, in which submersible construction robots will play an active role.
Underwater construction of the future will allow anyone to safely proceed with construction work, even in dangerous waters or deep-sea areas, through automatic control and remote operation that do not require skilled techniques. Asunaro Aoki Construction and Komatsu are taking on the challenge of realizing this concept.

About "Future Life Expo: Future City"
"Future Life Expo: Future City" imagines a community of the future where economic development is balanced with social responsibility and where every person can achieve happiness — with no one left behind.
In this exhibition, the cyber field (virtual space) and the physical field (real space) are fused, letting visitors experience the city of the future together and collectively imagine what's possible.
"Future Life Expo: Future City" is designed to let knowledge and ideas transcend boundaries that separate companies, organizations and industries, with the goal of demonstrating new values based on digital innovation.

Underwater construction of the future
Solving the social issues that await us
Natural disasters and mega earthquakes
Natural disasters have become larger and more frequent due to climate change and the threat of massive earthquakes and tsunamis calls for urgent action.
Low birthrate, aging population and workforce shortages
Underwater construction is indispensable in Japan, a country prone to natural disasters. A declining birthrate and aging population are creating a shortage of skilled workers to respond to these challenges.
An underwater construction robot developed by Komatsu and Asunaro Aoki Construction will be able to work in hazardous waters and deep sea environments. With automatic control and remote operation, anyone could operate the robot safely, accommodating a variety of working styles and locations while continuing to protect marine and freshwater environments.
Underwater construction of the future
A safe and secure living environment
Collecting big data
Collect 3D survey, design and construction data; monitor site conditions; access construction history; receive disaster alerts.
AI analysis
Use AI to analyze data and design optimized construction plans.
Reimagining the construction site
Underwater construction robots are operated from an office far from the construction site, protecting the lives and livelihoods of workers and the community.
